Which Hiplok bike locks are made to be worn?

Five, per Hiplok. Its page titles call the SPIN, LITE, Original, DX and GOLD wearable, from the 0.77 kg SPIN combination chain to the 2.32 kg GOLD chain.

Weight tells you what you'll carry, not how well a lock resists theft.

How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Sources for all 10 models

Start with a lock shape that reaches your anchor

Hiplok’s DX U-lock has an internal opening 150 mm long and 85 mm wide; URBAN D has an opening 210 mm long and 105 mm wide. Hiplok’s dimensions, weights and closure descriptions are available here, but theft-resistance trials were not conducted. Compare those clear openings with your bike and anchor, rather than treating shackle thickness as usable space.

Chains use a different measurement: SPIN is 75 cm long and HOME GOLD is 150 cm long. A chain length and a U-lock opening describe different ways of reaching around objects.

A carrying limit and a locking method can change the choice

SPIN weighs 0.77 kg and uses a combination; GOLD weighs 2.32 kg and uses a key. Usable weights span 0.77 to 3.81 kg across 8 locks. Missing weights limit this comparison to locks with a usable figure. Review how the exact lock will travel with you, especially when comparing chains with U-locks.

Neither weight nor shackle thickness alone demonstrates security against a particular tool, and missing dimensions or weights stay unknown.

Before you buy

Can I compare a chain's length with a D lock's opening?

They measure different things. A chain's locking length, 75 cm on the LITE and SPIN, wraps as a flexible loop, while a D lock's internal opening is fixed and has to fit around your frame and the stand: the URBAN D gives 210 mm by 105 mm and the DX 150 mm by 85 mm. For more reach, the HOME GOLD chain locks across 150 cm but weighs 3.81 kg.

Does a heavier lock mean better security?

Weight alone doesn't show that, though the heavier chains here are often the thicker ones: 10 mm on Hiplok's GOLD and HOME GOLD against 6 mm on its LITE and SPIN. For security, go by Hiplok's certification details for the exact lock. Its page titles call its GOLD chain Gold Sold Secure and its DX range Diamond Sold Secure, and name the D1000 and DX1000 as anti-angle-grinder locks.

Why do the DX1000 and E-DX show no weight?

Hiplok's DX1000 page gives none, and the E-DX page's table covers only its DX lock rather than the whole chain-and-lock set. Both move to Unknown details once you set a weight limit; Hiplok's title pitches the E-DX at e-bikes and cargo bikes.
