What does this agreement cover?
By accessing or using GearVetted you agree to these terms. GearVetted is a product comparison and scoring site. The finders, ranked lists, and scoring explanations are provided to help you research products. They do not substitute for professional advice or for your own review of a product before purchasing. Use your judgment. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site.
How current is product information and pricing?
GearVetted works to keep specifications, prices, and product links current, and scores products from published specifications. Manufacturers and retailers can change product details, discontinue models, or adjust prices without notice. Always verify specifications and current pricing on the retailer or manufacturer page before making a purchase. GearVetted makes no warranty that any specification, price, or product link is accurate at the time you read it.
How should scores be used?
GearVetted scores reflect published specifications and documented weights, not physical product trials. Some products may require professional installation, local code compliance, or specialized expertise to use safely. GearVetted rankings and recommendations do not replace the advice of a qualified professional. For any purchase where safety, building codes, or professional installation is relevant, consult a licensed expert before buying.
How do affiliate links and commissions work?
Some product links are affiliate links, primarily through the Amazon Associates program. Clicking an affiliate link and making a qualifying purchase may result in GearVetted receiving a commission at no extra cost to you. Rank order stays separate. Affiliate status does not affect rank order, because products are scored on published specifications, not on whether they carry a commission-earning link. Full detail is on the Affiliate disclosure and How we make money pages.
What use is permitted?
You may use GearVetted for personal, non-commercial product research. You agree not to scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy the site’s content or data, to re-publish it as your own, to interfere with the site’s operation, or to use it in any way that breaks applicable law. Bot access that degrades the service for others is not permitted.
Who owns the intellectual property?
The scoring models, written explanations, page layouts, and other original content on GearVetted belong to the site operator and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Product names, brand names, model numbers, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify and compare products. Nothing here grants you a right to reuse GearVetted’s original content beyond ordinary personal reference without permission.
How do third-party links work?
The site links out to retailer and manufacturer pages and other third-party resources. GearVetted does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices. Following an outbound link is at your own discretion, and the destination site’s own terms and privacy policy apply once you leave.
What warranties are disclaimed?
The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information. GearVetted does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that scores, specifications, or prices are complete or current.
What liability is limited?
To the extent permitted by applicable law, GearVetted is not liable for damages arising from reliance on information published on this site, including but not limited to product specifications, scores, recommendations, or outbound links. Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied with the site is to stop using it.
What law governs these terms?
The governing terms use the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the site operator is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If a specific governing jurisdiction or dispute-resolution venue applies to you, it will be confirmed on request before it is relied upon.
How can these terms change?
GearVetted may update these terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected in the effective date shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
