How We Make Money
How GearVetted makes money
GearVetted may earn from qualifying Amazon purchases when a product-page link is used. This compensation does not influence scores, rankings, or editorial judgments, because products are scored on merit before an affiliate link is ever attached.
Amazon Associates links
Product titles and product buttons link to specific product pages on Amazon.com using the site's Associates tag. These are direct product-page links (e.g., /dp/ASIN), never search results or category pages. Completing a purchase on Amazon can result in a small commission to this site at no additional cost to you. Amazon's required disclosure statement applies to those links: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Scoring independence
All scores are calculated before a single affiliate link is displayed. Scores run from 0/100 (no fit) to 100/100 (best match). The scoring formula is published on the Scoring Methodology page, including each criterion and its relative weight. Each product entry includes at least one documented drawback so readers can judge whether a product fits their specific situation rather than taking its aggregate rank at face value.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment to alter a score, move a product up in rankings, or label a product as a top pick. We do not accept free products from manufacturers in exchange for favorable coverage. We do not use native advertising or sponsored-placement labels to disguise paid relationships as editorial content.
Other revenue
Currently the only revenue source is the Amazon Associates program. If that changes, this page will be updated to reflect any new affiliate programs or advertising relationships before they go live.
