What does a wider carabiner gate cost?

They're Black Diamond's ratings for three loading directions: major axis, minor axis and gate open. The two oval carabiners rate 7 kN gate open and 9 kN on the minor axis; the other eight carabiners are 8 kN on both. RockLock Screwgate weighs about forty grams more than LiteForge. Both carry a 24 kN major-axis rating: the LiteForge trades a 15 mm opening for 45 g; RockLock Screwgate and the non-locking HotWire both open 25 mm, weighing 85 g and 40 g respectively. All ten models' major-axis ratings range from 23 to 26 kN; the ratings do not establish suitability for your climbing system. The HotWire uses a non-locking gate.

Its page calls it a Twistlock in the title and opening text, then a screwgate further down. We left the type blank rather than pick one, so it drops out when you choose a gate type; it still shows up by weight (89 g) and gate opening (24 mm).

Of the three BD sells as Triple Lock, the Oval Triple Lock is lightest at 70 g, with a 19 mm gate. The Gridlock Triple Lock weighs 90 g and opens to 22 mm, and the Rocklock Triple Lock is 94 g.
