How the Kayak Roof Rack Finder works

We compare published specifications; we have not tested these products.

Which details affect a match?

A model matches when its details meet every choice you select. Missing or conflicting values stay unknown. If nothing fits, the finder shows the closest option and what it misses.

  • Which carrier weight fits your roof-load plan (lb)?
  • Which carrier width do you want to compare (in)?
  • Which carrier height do you want to compare (in)?

Order and links

The starting order helps you browse. Your choices determine which models match. When the first match has no product link, the finder identifies another linked match separately. Commission amounts do not determine a match.

Sources and limitations

Eleven carriers, eight from Thule and three from Yakima, taken from each maker's US product pages on September 26, 2026. Weights and sizes are the makers' own pound and inch figures. Load figures stay as each maker words them: the Hull-a-Port XTR splits its rating between one and two boats, the Stacker's applies per kayak, and Yakima gives no load figure for the JayHook or BigStack, which show as unknown. Vehicle fit, crossbar compatibility, roof limits and loaded height are not covered. We didn't mount, load or drive with any of these carriers.

The finder shows source links and the dates they were checked. Those dates do not establish today’s price or stock. Before ordering, confirm the model and variant on the seller’s page.
