Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Pick torso fit before extra pack volume
The deuter packs cover 35 to 65 L, but liters do not describe the fit against your back. deuter’s product information supplies the pack figures; loaded walks and personal fitting were not performed, leaving ventilation and carrying comfort unassessed. Aircontact Lite SL has back-length limits of 35 to 56 cm; Aircontact Ultra has limits of 42 to 62 cm. Use the exact size’s endpoints rather than assuming a larger pack accommodates your torso.
Aircontact Core SL and Futura Air Trek SL share some volume options, so the model name and fit range matter even when the capacity looks familiar.
Count the empty pack alongside the load you plan to carry
Aircontact Ultra weighs 1270 g and deuter recommends a load range of 12 to 15 kg. Aircontact Pro SL weighs 2790 g with a recommended range of 15 to 30 kg. These maker recommendations distinguish the packs more clearly than volume alone; they do not tell you how either feels on your shoulders.
Ask what accessories the weight includes when ordering a particular size.
Before you buy
Which end of deuter's recommended load does the load choice use?
The upper end. The Futura Air Trek packs, for example, are recommended for 8 to 15 kg, so they pass a minimum set to the upper end of that band and drop out at the Core’s higher endpoint below. Aircontact Lite and Ultra share that upper recommended load of fifteen kilograms.
Does the +10 in a name add to the volume shown?
It doesn't. The figure shown is deuter's backpack volume, 65 L for the Aircontact Pro 65+10 SL, and the +10 or +5 in a model name is not added to it.
Will a bigger pack fit a longer back?
Volume doesn't tell you, and two packs of the same volume can be a very different fit. The six SL-named packs other than the Pro fit back lengths of 35 to 56 cm, the Core 50+10, Core 60+10, Lite 40 + 10 and Ultra 50+5 fit 42 to 62 cm, and the Aircontact Pro 65+10 SL fits 38 to 48 cm. Follow deuter's fitting guidance for your measured back.
Which packs come in lightest after the Ultra?
The Aircontact Lite packs: 1,490 g for the 35 + 10 SL, 1,540 g for the 45 + 10 SL and 1,590 g for the 40 + 10. The weight choices are exact values rather than limits, so leave weight open to compare them. The four Aircontact Core packs go to 20 kg at 2,170 to 2,310 g.
Why are only deuter packs included?
This comparison covers 11 deuter packs from deuter's US storefront, where each had volume, weight, load and back-length figures. Other brands aren't included, and the links go to deuter's own pages.
