Choose brightness for the riding mode you will actually use
Lezyne gives its KTV Drive Pro a maximum output of 300 lumens and Mega Drive a maximum of 2400 lumens. Across these front lights, the maker’s maximum outputs run from 300 to 2400 lumens. Those limits do not show beam coverage or visibility on your route.
Read the mode chart for the brightness you plan to ride with; a maximum-output label does not describe every operating mode.
The longest runtime is not the brightest runtime
Lezyne gives Hecto Drive a maximum runtime of 20 hours and Mega Drive a maximum of 450 hours. Those are separate maxima from the lumen figures, not a promise that maximum brightness lasts that long. Lezyne’s product pages supply the light figures, without night rides, beam measurements or battery runs. Compare runtime at your chosen mode before deciding whether recharging fits your riding schedule.
Maximum-runtime figures are available for all 11 lights, yet this comparison does not reproduce their mode-by-mode runtime charts.
Allow for the charging connection and the mount
Hecto Drive uses Lezyne’s USB Stick charging description, while Mega Drive uses USB-C. Light weights range from 73 to 326 g. Check the supplied mount against your handlebar or other intended attachment point, and allow access to the charging connection.
Weight and maximum output cannot settle mount security or illumination on a particular road.
Before you buy
Does the 450-hour runtime apply at full brightness?
No. That's the Mega Drive 2400+'s maximum runtime, which Lezyne gives for a different mode than its peak output. For how long a light runs at a given brightness, go by Lezyne's figure for that mode.
Will a brighter light be legal and safe on the road?
Lumens describe output only. Beam shape, glare toward drivers and other riders, and your local lighting rules aren't covered here, and a high rating says nothing about any of them. Roughly, yes. The KTV Drive Pro 300+ is rated 300 lm at 73 g, the Lite Drive 1200+ 1,200 lm at 174 g and the Mega Drive 2400+ 2,400 lm at 326 g. All but the 84 g Hecto Drive 500XL charge by USB-C. Maximum runtime comes from a different mode than peak output, so it won't tell you how long full brightness lasts.
What does Light Only in three names mean?
Lezyne adds it to the Macro Drive 1400+, Super Drive 1800+ Smart and Mega Drive 2400+, and this page doesn't define it. Read what's in the box on Lezyne's page before counting on a mount or accessories.
