How the Camping Stove Finder (MSR models) works

We compare published specifications; we have not tested these products.

Which details affect a match?

A model matches when its details meet every choice you select. Missing or conflicting values stay unknown. If nothing fits, the finder shows the closest option and what it misses.

  • Which fuel type do you want to compare?
  • Standalone stove or stove system?
  • Which stove or system weight would you like to compare (g)?

Order and links

The starting order helps you browse. Your choices determine which models match. When the first match has no product link, the finder identifies another linked match separately. Commission amounts do not determine a match.

Sources and limitations

All ten stoves are MSR models, taken from MSR's product pages on the Cascade Designs site on September 26, 2026. Weight is MSR's minimum weight, except the Switch, which MSR gives as a complete system figure. Boil times are MSR's own, each with the fuel MSR names; the Switch's half-liter figure wasn't stretched to 1 L. Dimensions keep MSR's order and aren't a packed volume. Large two-burner car-camping stoves aren't included. No stove was lit for this comparison.

The finder shows source links and the dates they were checked. Those dates do not establish today’s price or stock. Before ordering, confirm the model and variant on the seller’s page.
