How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Road, gravel and gravity labels do not identify your cleats

Shimano separates SPD-SL cleats from SPD cleats. Its Road shoes here use SPD-SL, while the Gravity, Adventure, Indoor and Gravel entries with known cleat systems use SPD. Begin with your pedal system, then decide which riding-use group you want.

Cleat details are supported for 9 shoes. The remaining Off-road entry has an unknown system, so an Off-road choice alone cannot resolve compatibility.

Compare closures without guessing shoe fit

The 10 Shimano shoes include BOA dial, Dual BOA dials, Laces and strap, and BOA dial and strap closures. Gravity entries span the latter closure styles, so the riding-use label does not dictate how you fasten the shoe.

This page compares Shimano’s shoe descriptions without fitting them on riders. Choose your size and width using the selected model’s guidance, and check that size’s availability. Release technique and pedal instructions still matter after you find a cleat match.

Before you buy

Will every shoe work with my pedals?

Use your pedal’s cleat system and the exact shoe’s support information. Shimano RC503 and RC903 both support SPD-SL for road riding. RC503 has one BOA dial; RC903 has dual BOA dials. Select controls within that supported system. The finder compares models; it cannot choose shoe size.

Does the finder select my shoe size?

It compares models. Use the manufacturer’s size and width guide, and confirm the selected size is available before buying.

Does the riding-use label establish pedal compatibility?

A Road or Off-road category describes intended use, while the cleat field names a system. XC903’s cleat value remains unknown because its saved description is unclear. Your exact pedal system and the chosen shoe variant still need explicit compatibility information.
