At the same test label, XT provides more reel-spooling material.

With no preferences selected: FluoroShield — 10 lb / Clear / 300 yd is one option to compare.
Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Spool length can change while construction stays the same
Berkley’s Trilene® XL® Monofilament and Trilene® XT® Monofilament both carry 10 lb labels. Their spool lengths differ: 110 yd for the former and 300 yd for the latter. Decide how much line you want on the purchased spool without assuming the longer spool has a different test label.
The 12 entries span monofilament, fluorocarbon, braid and fluorocarbon-infused copolymer. Our comparisons use the selected spool details rather than casting or breaking the line.
A pound-test label is not a cross-construction verdict
Vanish® Fluorocarbon carries a 10 lb label on a 110 yd spool. FluoroShield™ has the same label on a 300 yd spool, but its construction is fluorocarbon-infused copolymer. A product name containing fluorocarbon does not settle the construction field.
The full selection runs from 2–20 lb labels and 110–330 yd spools. These labels do not prove equal behavior across constructions. Check the exact variant when ordering because a family page can offer other pound-test and spool-length combinations.
Before you buy
Does a 10 lb label guarantee knot strength?
The pound figure is Berkley’s label for the selected line variant. It gives no independently measured knot strength or breaking result. Your knots and fishing conditions remain outside these construction and spool-size comparisons. Berkley’s Trilene XL and Trilene XT selections are both 10 lb monofilament. XL supplies 110 yd; XT supplies 300 yd. Labels describe the selected spool. For more reel-spooling material at that label, XT gives you more length. That does not establish knot strength or catch performance; other colors and test sizes are separate choices.
Are all sizes of each line included?
Each row shows one named SKU. The product link selects that variant; other combinations may be available.
Is FluoroShield 100% fluorocarbon?
Berkley calls FluoroShield a copolymer with a fluorocarbon infusion. It therefore has a separate construction category, rather than being treated as a fully fluorocarbon line. Use the exact variant’s label when you compare materials.
