How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Similar volume can come with very different empty weight

ALPS OutdoorZ's Hybrid X offers 45 L of base capacity at 108 oz, while Pursuit offers 44 L at 71 oz. Both have a 19 in main-compartment height. If base volume is your priority, that comparison shows why a larger capacity number should not be your entire decision. Read the suspension and complete-system description before accepting the additional empty weight.

Base capacities across these packs span 17 to 66 L, and empty weights span 29 to 147 oz. The volume comparison excludes expansion space. These are maker dimensions and weights, without loaded-pack carrying observations.

Compartment height measures storage, not torso fit

Main-compartment heights range from 16 to 35 in. That measurement can help you judge storage space, but it is not a torso length or a suspension adjustment range. ALPS OutdoorZ's Crossbuck has a 34 L base capacity and an 18 in compartment; Willow Creek has 17 L and a 16 in compartment. For fit, use the model's suspension guidance, and verify whether its weight covers the complete pack system you will carry.

Before you buy

Does capacity include expansion?

Traverse EPS has a 54–74 L capacity range. This comparison uses its 54 L base figure and leaves the expansion separate; the other included models have single capacity values. Your expanded packing plan needs the full maker description.

Is this just a meat-hauler comparison?

It includes day packs and complete frame-and-bag systems. Capacity and empty weight do not establish meat-hauling suitability or a rated load.

Does compartment height tell me whether the pack fits my torso?

Compare the manufacturer’s torso and waist measurements separately. The finder’s height is the main compartment measurement only.

Is the frame weight included?

For included frame-and-bag systems, the comparison uses the complete system’s listed weight, not its separate bag weight. ALPS OutdoorZ Commander X + Pack has 66 L base capacity at 147 oz; Hybrid X has 45 L at 108 oz. Your carry needs decide the compromise. Hybrid X gives up capacity for less empty weight. Its compartment is 19 in tall against Commander’s 35 in; those heights say nothing about torso fit or airline clearance.
