Where LEKI states a packed size, the folding FX poles pack to 40 or 41 cm, against 67 to 71 cm for non-folding ones.
Adjustable reach differs from packed size.

Select an adjustment range that contains your pole length
LEKI’s Khumbu adjusts from 100 to 145 cm; Makalu Cork Lite adjusts from 90 to 125 cm. Both are aluminum adjustable designs, but the shared material does not make their usable lengths identical. Read the exact range and locking instructions for your chosen variant, including whether its sections fold.
These comparisons come from LEKI’s dimensions and construction descriptions rather than hikes with the poles. A range is a fit constraint, not a formula for the pole length you personally need.
Folding changes the packing question
Supported packed lengths span 40 to 71 cm. Skytera FX Carbon SL packs to 40 cm; Khumbu packs to 71 cm. Makalu FX Carbon packs to 41 cm and combines folding with adjustment from 100 to 120 cm. Read packed length separately from the full adjustment range when sizing a bag attachment.
Makalu Cork Lite has no supported packed measurement here. An adjustment range does not supply it. Verify how LEKI measures the collapsed pole and allow for the actual bag compartment or attachment, rather than assuming every carbon or folding design packs alike.
A pair-weight comparison needs pair weights
Skytera FX Carbon SL has a per-pole weight of 178 g. That is the sole supported per-pole figure among these variants, so neither carbon nor aluminum can be assigned a weight advantage across the selection. Keep the per-pole basis when a seller describes a pair.
Grip names also differ: Khumbu uses Aergon, Makalu uses Aergon Air and Skytera FX Carbon SL uses Verticon. A grip name cannot reveal how it feels in your hand. Follow the pole’s locking and strap instructions before relying on it for support.
Before you buy
Is the listed weight for one pole or two?
One. LEKI gives 178 g per pole for the Skytera FX Carbon SL, the only pole here with a gram weight; the other 13 have no gram weight here, so the table leaves them blank instead of guessing. Double it if you're weighing a pair.
Does a carbon name mean every section is carbon?
Not always. The Skytera Carbon Lite, Skysolo FX Carbon and Makalu FX Carbon AS list aluminum and carbon together, while the Skytera FX Carbon SL, Makalu Pro FX Carbon and Makalu FX Carbon list carbon alone. If you choose Carbon in the shaft menu, you'll see only those last three.
Why do some poles have no packed size?
No packed size was captured for the Skytera Lite, Skysolo FX Carbon, Makalu FX Carbon AS, Makalu Lite AS or Makalu Cork Lite, so those stay unknown rather than guessed. The adjustment-range menu matches one exact range, so pick the range you need rather than a nearby one. Where LEKI states a packed size, the folding FX poles pack to 40 or 41 cm, against 67 to 71 cm for non-folding ones. The catch is range. Every folding pole adjusts over just 20 cm, 100 to 120 or 110 to 130 cm; non-folding ones span 35 or 45 cm. Pick one of those.
