How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

The hammock weight may include a whole shelter kit

Kammok's Roo Single UL weighs 167 g as a packed hammock; its Mantis weighs 1395 g as a packed kit. ENO's TravelNest and Kammok's Wallaby include straps in their weights. Read that equipment basis before assuming the heaviest entry represents the heaviest hammock fabric.

No sleep in suspended hammocks informs this comparison of body measurements and equipment inclusions. Body lengths range from 100 to 126 in. Kammok's Roo Single is 100 in long, while Grand Trunk's Skeeter Beeter Pro is 126 in long. Length helps distinguish designs, but it cannot identify a comfortable sleeping position.

Capacity is a hammock rating, not an anchor assessment

Maker-stated capacities span 300 to 500 lb. ENO's SuperSub is rated at 300 lb, while Kammok's Roo Single is rated at 500 lb. Those figures belong to the hammock and do not rate the strength of a tree, strap or anchor.

Follow the particular suspension and setup instructions, including the limits of every component you use. Account for straps, shelter pieces and other equipment absent from a weight figure before deciding what you will carry. A capacity match cannot certify the safety of the hanging system.

Before you buy

Do all these weights include straps?

TravelNest is listed at 794 g with straps, and Wallaby at 638 g with straps. Five other rows give a maker-listed hammock weight without an explicit strap-inclusion statement. The two Roo weights are total packed hammock figures, and Mantis is a total packed kit. The JungleNest and Skeeter Beeter Pro also have a mosquito net named in their titles.

What does the weight rating cover?

The hammock itself, as its maker rates it: 300 lb for four hammocks, 400 lb for four other hammocks and 500 lb for Kammok's Roo Single and Mantis. Your straps, the trees and the way you hang it have to carry the same load, so follow the maker's hanging instructions. About 245 g at the extremes, by the makers' figures: every hammock 120 in or longer weighs 567 g or more, and Kammok's two 100 in Roos weigh 167 and 322 g. The bases differ, though: the Roos are weighed packed, and the 1,395 g Mantis as a packed kit. Skip the Roos.
