Compare the waist and leg ranges of the exact harness size
Comfort under suspension and fitting harnesses to climbers remain unassessed in this comparison of Petzl's size tables and weights. Petzl's WHISPER and SITTA in XS share waist ranges of 65 to 71 cm and leg-loop ranges of 48 to 53 cm. Their compared weights differ: WHISPER is 140 g and SITTA is 250 g. Similar body ranges do not mean identical fit, comfort or intended use.
Measure yourself and follow Petzl's fitting instructions for the actual size. These selectors match complete range labels, rather than calculating fit from an individual measurement. A waist range from the XS row cannot be applied to another size.
Lower harness weight cannot establish suitability
The compared sizes range from 140 to 520 g. Petzl's AQUILA in M weighs 405 g, with a waist range of 77 to 84 cm and leg-loop range of 52 to 62 cm. Compare weight after narrowing the size, and obtain the weight for the exact variant you will order.

If my waist falls in the range, will the harness fit?
It's a start. The leg loops have to fit you as well, and their ranges vary: 10 cm on the Adjama and Luna, twice the 5 cm span on most rows. Each row shows one size only, so Petzl's full size chart is where to look for yours.
Why is each harness shown in a different size?
Each row is the size and color Petzl had in its Buy Now panel on the day we looked: XS (65 to 71 cm waist) for most, S for the Adjama and Sama, M for the Aquila and size 2 for the Corax. The model number, such as C003AA00 for the Whisper in XS, White, pins down which one it is. Up to 225 g at XS. Petzl's XS Whisper weighs 140 g with 48 to 53 cm leg loops; the XS Luna, 365 g with 46 to 56 cm. Compare leg loops as well as weight. This comparison does not include certification information.
Can I compare the weights across models?
Only within one size. The Sama and Selena both weigh 310 g, but the Sama reaches that weight as an S and the Selena as an XS. Beyond the seven XS rows, the other four use larger sizes, including the 520 g Corax in size 2, so they aren't an XS weight comparison.
Does this tell me if a harness is certified?
It doesn't. Petzl's current instructions for the exact model are the place to read its certifications, intended activity and use instructions before you buy or climb on it.
