Camera sensors: which come with C8K video?

Just one. All three cameras with C8K video are Leica Q3 models with full-frame sensors and 60.3 MP effective resolution.

The Q3 and Q3 43 are fixed at 28 and 43 mm. Leica's D-Lux 8 zooms 24 to 75 mm on Four Thirds.

How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Choose the lens view before chasing megapixels

Ricoh's GR III HDF has an approximately 28 mm equivalent focal length; the GR IIIx HDF has approximately 40 mm. Both have 24.24 MP resolution and APS-C sensors, but they frame a scene differently. The lens description can separate cameras that a megapixel filter leaves together.

Resolution ranges from 12 to 60.3 MP for the 19 cameras with that value. Sensor formats include small inch-type sensors, Four Thirds, APS-C and full frame. Read format and focal length alongside resolution; a pixel count cannot describe zoom range, and the format filter matches a category rather than predicting image quality.

Video labels and camera weights need their qualifications

Weight descriptions exist for 18 cameras, but they mix units and battery conditions. Ricoh's GR III HDF is approximately 257 g with its dedicated battery and memory card, or approximately 227 g body only. Compare the same carrying condition before drawing a weight conclusion.

No photographs were captured and no recording sessions performed for this reading of camera specifications. Video categories match their exact labels. A resolution label does not describe frame rates, recording limits or every available mode. Built-in filter descriptions also differ across the Ricoh models.

Before you buy

How heavy are the Nikon COOLPIX models?

Nikon's six COOLPIX models start at 500 g (the B600) and climb from there; the P1000 and P1100, which zoom from 24 to 3,000 mm, weigh about 1,410 to 1,415 g. If you want light, Kodak's FZ55 is about 106 g body only. If you want APS-C at 257 to 262 g with battery and card, look at the Ricoh GRs.

Do more megapixels mean better pictures?

Not on their own. The counts here are effective pixels on very different sensors: 12 MP on the OM System TG-7's 1/2.33-inch type sensor, 25.74 MP on the Ricoh GR IV's APS-C. For the Leica Q3 models, that means the full effective count, not the reduced 18 MP settings.

Can I compare the weights directly?

You'll want to read what each figure includes. Ricoh gives two figures (the GR IV is 228 g body only), OM System weighs the TG-7 with battery and card at 249 g, Kodak quotes body only and Leica gives the Q3s with and without battery. Nikon's figures don't say. The Kodak FZ45 and Leica D-Lux 8 show no weight, and the FZ45 has no sensor details either.
